Projects and Initiatives
Our network is involved in projects and initiatives aimed at enabling vulnerable persons to enjoy physical and financial access to food. Some of these include:
1. Social accountability in Kenya government cash transfer program targeting Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC), elderly persons and Persons Living with Disability (PWD).
2. Social accountability in programs targeting improved agricultural productivity, food security and consequently the right to adequate food.
5. Strengthening rural governance – the manner in which public affairs are managed in our rural areas determine how the rural poor access food and other needs.
4. Food systems transformation – We continuously review the situation of food systems in the LREB and take steps to encourage smallholder farmers to change their unsustainable agronomic practices to more sustainable ones that can guarantee adequate food today and in the future.
